PRISONER'S CONNECTIONS LED TO EARLY RELEASE

Monday, January 19, 2004
EDITORIAL & COMMENT   08A

Recent Dispatch stories highlighted former court clerk Jesse D. Oddi Jr., who received an early prison release from his six-year sentence. Judge John Connor of the Franklin County Common Pleas Court stated that Oddi had been a model inmate and further incarceration would "inhibit the rehabilitation process.''

What about the thousands of Ohio prisoners who are "model inmates,'' have served their minimum sentence or more and are still languishing inside, costing the taxpayers a pretty penny to preserve prison jobs and maintain the Ohio prison industrial complex? Guess they don't know the right people.
